Step 1
Melt 4 1/2 tablespoons of the butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook the potatoes, you will see, until golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 2
Meanwhile, melt the remaining 1 1/2 teaspoons butter in another skillet over heat. Cooking onion also garlic, stirring, until soft, about 5 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to cook until the garlic is lightly browned, 5 to 10 more minutes. My heart mix onions with potatoes.
