*Ingredients
°4-6 slices of toast or bread (lowly thawing or light)
roasted)
°3 eggs
°3 T cold milk
°1 T honey
°1 ton brown sugar
°1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 tablespoons butter
+filling:
°1 kg Philadelphia cream cheese
°½ c sugar
°2 c fresh chopped strawberries
*instructions
Make the filling by blending all the ingredients together in a blender or hand mixer until smooth and creamy. Keep it inside the three until you use it.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat.
Mix eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and honey together to make the custard. Mix well! Sit aside.
Take one piece of Texas Toast and lay it flat on a cutting board. Using a rolling pin, roll out each piece of bread to an inch thick. It should be fairly thin. Spread 2 tons of cream cheese mixture on half of one side of the bread. It does not spread everywhere. Only half.
From half of the cream cheese, roll as shown in the photo (the cream cheese mixture should close) and repeat with the remaining bread. Lay the folded side down.
Next, add butter to the skillet. Dip each piece in the custard (egg/milk mixture) and immediately fry until golden brown on all sides, stirring carefully every 1-2 minutes. It should turn brown in about 4-5 minutes. Do not overcrowd the fryer.
They are made when the surface of the rolls becomes crunchy brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, cinnamon, or your favorite toppings and add warm maple syrup or honey.
Enjoy!!
